WALFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN: ‘CALL FOR SITES’

The Parish Council has committed to producing a Neighbourhood Plan that will enable the Parish to have a far greater say in how housing development can be controlled at local level rather than just have development imposed on us at County level. The first significant milestone in preparing the Plan has been completed. A questionnaire was sent out to every household in the Parish. Independent response analysis has been carried out and the data gas been sent out to all households. The data is available on the Projects page: Neighbourhood Development Plan. Now that the Herefordshire Council Core Strategy has been formally adopted, the Steering Group has been holding meetings, to progress the project to the next phase.

WALFORD NEIGHBOURHOOD DEVELOPMENT PLAN (NDP) GROUP, ON BEHALF OF WALFORD PARISH COUNCIL IS LOOKING AT THE POTENTIAL AVAILABILITY OF LAND FOR A RANGE OF USES ACROSS THE PARISH UP TO 2031.
This process is being undertaken as part of the evidence base to support the preparation of the Walford NDP. This is an opportunity for landowners and developers to propose sites within Walford Parish for development. If you want a site(s) to be considered, we would like you to complete our Site Submission Form for each site.
Completing a form will not in itself lead to a site being allocated for development by the NDP, nor will it commit the proposer(s) to applying for planning consent. All sites submitted will be independently assessed to see if they meet a set of criteria, and could be suitable for development. Consultation with residents is a vital part of this process, and will take place to help us with the Plan.
Sites submitted will be in the public domain and the information submitted will not be treated as confidential.
The Site Submission Form is available to download on the Walford Parish Council website – www.walford-pc.org.uk – or email the Chairman of the NDP Group, Will Warburg, at will@handwell.co.uk, or ring or text 07889 366388 to be sent a form.
Please return completed forms no later than Friday, 1st September 2017.

KERNE BRIDGE CANOE LAUNCH SITE
Kerne Bridge Canoe Launch Preferred development partner Expressions of interest invited
Walford Parish Council has recently taken ownership of the Kerne Bridge Canoe launch site. The launch facilities are rated as some of the best on the River Wye.
It is our intention to enhance these facilities and the way they are managed and operate in order to provide the best possible visitor experience.
One way to do this is to engage with a preferred development partner who will wish to invest in the facilities and work with the Parish Council in order to achieve the most satisfactory outcome and share in the success of the venture.

Please see the Projects page for further details.
